ESGR
UIU-Waterloo Center received the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) State Chairman's award by Dr. Susan Dawson, chair of ESGR Veterans of Northeast Iowa (2008).
In 2008, the UIU-Waterloo Center was presented with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) State Chairman's award by Dr. Susan Dawson, chair of ESGR Veterans of Northeast Iowa.
- No more than three State Chair awards are given out annually, and UIU was the only one in 2008.
- In addition to receiving the award, Davidson signed an official Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve and will be added to a long list of ESGR supporters.
- According to Dawson [in 2008], 47 percent of Iowa National Guard members had been deployed two or three times to current conflicts overseas. ESGR's purpose is to promote understanding and support between employers and National Guard and reserve member employees.
